Director Marta McCabe
The Durham location is directed by Marta McCabe, who is also the Founder & President of the school. Marta works as an instructor of English as a Foreign Language (EFL) at Durham Technical Community College and a Research Associate at the School of Education at Charles University in Prague. Marta’s research focuses mainly on language learning among children of immigrants in the United States and the Czech Republic. Born in Prague, she has lived in Durham, NC, for the past 10 years and has 3 children who attend the Czech and Slovak School.
Charlotte

Coordinator Dora Koziskova
The Charlotte location is coordinated by Dora Koziskova. Dora was born in Domazlice, Czech Republic, and moved to the USA in 2004. She lived in Orlando, FL, for several years where she studied at the University of Central Florida and graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing. After 2 years of working as a nurse in a hospital setting, she moved to Charlotte, NC, in 2014 where she gave birth to her 2 sons. Dora comes from a family of teachers and has strong personal ties to the Czech Republic, its culture and traditions. She is extremely excited to take part in the opening of the Charlotte branch of The Czech and Slovak School of NC. In her spare time, Dora enjoys traveling with her family, reading, and playing the piano.
